Put simply, telehealth is the provision of medical services through electronic means.
LoPresti Health uses a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for virtual sessions and consultation.
-
It’s simple. After completing intake paperwork though a secure online portal, you will receive a link each week to join our session. You can connect through your laptop, phone, or tablet from any secure/private location.
-
Absolutely. Many studies have demonstrated the efficacy of telehealth services for many presenting symptoms including depression, anxiety, relational issues, PTSD, and health related concerns.
Additionally, when compared to traditional face-to-face sessions, empirical studies have suggested comparable reduction in symptomatology.

Empirical and anecdotal evidence suggest that weekly individual sessions are most appropriate for good therapeutic work to occur.
Weekly counseling has been shown to promote:
Quicker assessment and faster therapeutic trajectory
A greater likelihood of achieving recovery sooner
A strong therapeutic relationship
Deeper connection, improved insight, and longer lasting outcomes
For these reasons, I generally do not see clients less than weekly.
-
There are many factors that make it difficult to predict the length of counseling. These include:
Presenting problem and history
Level of social support
Current life-stressors and developments
Patient investment, commitment, and therapeutic goals
I work with most patients for at least 6 months, but many clients see benefits after a few sessions.

Since LoPresti Health is not paneled with any insruance companies, I am considered an “out-of-network” provider.
I do, however, provide all necessary information for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. The amount you receive will depend on variables including your carrier, plan, and out of network deductible.

Yes…and no.
Being in counseling is similar to going to the gym. Just as a personal trainer encourages their clients to push their physical limits, a therapist can challenge your psychological worldview and encourage you to take new risks. A good therapist will be attuned to you, your limits, and balance interpersonal feedback with supportive interventions.
Sometimes difficult feelings and topics may arise in response to the work, but this is a normal, and often necessary part of the therapeutic process.
Many of my clients have expressed looking forward to their weekly sessions, seeing the space as a reliable, safe place to unpack the happenings of their lives. It can be relieving in and of itself to know you can talk about anything with someone who has been trained to listen and provide support.
